FR: Le processus de création comme essence

Le 13 décembre 2019, Jolan dépose un carnet dans la boîte aux lettres du studio de Cécile. De là naît une relation nouvelle. Deux cousins se rencontrent pour de bon. Jolan Chappaz lui a offert ses écrits, et maintenant, ils vivent au-delà de son récit : Cécile Giovannini les emmène dans son univers, où rêve et réalité sont unis.

Cette création se trouve dès lors dans une nouvelle dimension, ni celle de la plasticienne ou du poète, mais la leur. Un lieu qui n'existerait pas sans l'échange. Ils surmontent leurs peurs, ils comprennent celle de l'autre, ils construisent enfin un nouveau lieu, où fragilité et vulnérabilité peuvent fleurir.

December 13, 2019, Jolan leaves a notebook in Cécile' studio letterbox. From there was born a new relationship. Two cousins have met for good. Jolan Chappaz gave her his note book and now Cécile Giovannini takes them in her world, that oscillates between dream and reality, with a special focus on femininity.

This creation therefore finds a new dimension, neither that of the visual artist, nor of the writer, but theirs. A place that wouldn't exist without an exchange. They now see – even more – the importance of sharing, of communicating. They overcome their fears, they understand that of others, they finally build a new place, where fragility and vulnerability are embraced.

FR: La nature, autre terre de sensualité

Le projet est un manifeste à l'érotisation des sens. L'être humain peut retrouver, en soi, le pouvoir sur sa propre sensualité.

EN: Nature, other land of sensuality

The project is a manifesto to the erotization of the senses. The human being thus regains the power over his own sensuality.

Ce dialogue artistique, présenté ici comme un WIP, se nourrit de la situation actuelle : incertaine.

Dans une période aussi douteuse, tous deux se retrouvent attirés au plus profond de leurs désirs et de leurs souvenirs, l'une des seules terres où ils peuvent se reconnecter.

Les images et les écrits se trouvent attirés vers le monde des rêves, cherchant ensemble un conte de fées.

Le retour à la nature, à la magie devient inévitable.

Des sensations physiques sont éveillées : le souvenir de leurs pieds nus marchant dans la forêt, la douceur du lichen, le craquement des feuilles sous leur poids...

Volontairement, ils se perdent dans cette nature, éveilleuse des sens.

Le corps embrasse sa vulnérabilité.

This artistic dialogue, shown here as a WIP, is nourished by the current situation, that can only exacerbate our society’s issues. In such a doubtful time, they both found themselves drawn to the deepest of their desires and memories, one of the only lands where they can reconnect.

Therefore, the images and writings are drawn towards the world of dreams, seeking together a fairy tale. The return to nature, to magic is inevitable.

Physical sensations are aroused, like the memory of their bare feet walking in the forest, the sweetness of the lichen, the crackling of the leaves under their weight…

Voluntarily, they lose themselves to this nature that awakens the senses.

The body embraces its vulnerability.

FR:

Nés et élevés dans les montagnes, la nature coule en eux. Et maintenant, à l'âge adulte, ils ressentent sa présence chaleureuse.

À travers cette démarche artistique, le duo tente de recréer un lien charnel avec la nature et de lui exprimer l’importance qu’il y a à la contempler avec tous ses sens. Pour la chérir avec toute sa tendresse.

De la tendresse envers soi, naît l’amour.

Borned and raised in the mountains, nature flows within them. And now, in the adulthood, they finally feel it again.

Through this artistic process, they try to recreate a carnal link with their surrounding, to express the importance it has to contemplate it with all the senses... and to cherish it with all its tenderness.

We have to be gentle to one’s inner land to be able to embrace our environment.

FR: Expérimentons

Le projet n'a pas de forme ou de calendrier définit. Il évolue et s'adapte à son environnement.

La démarche artistique est pensée comme évolutive et organique. Elle sera ponctuée d'interventions dans un habitat naturel, mais aussi dans les institutions. Historiquement, les liens entre arts littéraires et arts visuels sont très codifiés et hiérarchisés. A travers sa démarche, le duo souhaite expérimenter un échange plus libre, déconstruire cette relation.

Des mots gravés sur une pierre ont-ils le même poids que ceux tracés sur du papier ? Une image peinte peut-elle s'intégrer dans un environnement naturel ? Comment le message se transforme-t-il lorsque l'environnement change ?

Autant de questions sans « bonnes » réponses, mais chacune créant sa propre vérité.

Oui, quand le monde se paralyse, les deux préfèrent se libérer. Car faire tout cela, si ce n’est pour s’aimer, à quoi bon ?

Ils se répètent donc en mantra, chacun à soi : À la fin, donc aujourd’hui, je t’aime.

EN: The experiment

The project has no final form or timing. It evolves and adapts to its environment.

The artistic approach is thought as evolutive and organic. It will be punctuated by interventions in a natural habitat, but also in Institutions.

Historically, the dialogue between images and writings is very codified and ranked. In this process, they desire to deconstruct this relation. No rules are set.

Yes, when the world is paralyzed, the two prefer to free themselves. Because doing all this, if it is not to love oneself, what's the point then?

So, they repeat to themselves, in a mantra: In the end, thus today, I love you.

Recherche de dialogue entre textes et œuvres visuelles au travers de pièces styles ex-votos, réalisées en argile puis peintes.

Les textes sont écrits à la main sur les pièces d’argiles ou sur des feuilles de papier qui font partie de la composition finale.
